"The Cozy Nostra Lodge" is a charming two-story South Lake Tahoe cabin with 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms located in the historic Al Tahoe area. The lodge is a 4 block walk to the lake and a 10 minute drive to the casinos and Heavenly Valley Ski Resort. It has a spacious sunny living room with wood burning stove, large dining room, bar, fully equipped kitchen, garage, large fenced backyard and patio.
Housekeeping
Upon your arrival, you will find the beds made with clean sheets and a set of towels provided for each guest. The cleaning service will do the laundry and make the beds upon your departure.
• Bedroom #1 "The Honeymoon Suite" has a Queen sized brass bed, faces the street over the kitchen, and is reached by its' own separate staircase.
• Bedroom #2 has a King sized bed and faces the backyard.
• Bedroom #3 has two twin beds, next to one of the upstairs bathrooms.
• Bedroom #4 has two twin beds and faces the driveway.
• Bedroom #5 has a King sized bed and faces the backyard.
• There is a Queen sized sofabed downstairs in the dining room. Bedding for the sofabed is found in the cedar chest next to the sofabed.
Amenities
The lodge is completely equipped including a wood burning stove, large flat screen color television with cable, DVD/VCR, stereo, C.D., and telephone. The kitchen has a gas range, double ovens, dishwasher, microwave oven, coffee maker, toaster, blender, waffle iron, steam iron, dishes, utensils, large serving dishes, pots and pans. Games, outside eating table, old bicycles, Bar-B-Que, patio furniture, folding crib and highchair are available for guest use.
The lodge is equipped with WiFi internet service.
Guests must supply their own firewood. Local supermarkets, CVS and Rite Aid in the South Lake Tahoe area all sell bundles of wood suitable for the wood burning stove.
Smoking is permitted outside only. Sorry, but pets are not allowed.

Rental Rates
The basic rental rate is $250.00 per night for the first and second nights. The basic rental rate for the third, fourth, and fifth nights is $200.00 per night. The weekly rate is $1200.00. Holiday rates are higher. In addition, the City of South Lake Tahoe charges a 10% Occupancy Tax on all rental fees.
A $250.00 security deposit is required to hold a reservation. A $500.00 security deposit is required to hold a holiday reservation. A two night minimum stay is required September through June. During the months of July and August a 4 night minimum stay is required.
A mandatory cleaning/linen fee of $125.00 is charged
in addition to rent.
Payment-in-full is required one month prior to the rental date.

1. What is the configuration of the bed sizes in each bedroom? How many guests?

The City of South Lake Tahoe strictly limits the number of overnight guests allowed to 12 persons only.
2. What size wood can the wood stove in the living room take?
The wood stove can accept logs which are up to 18 -- 20 inches in length, and no more than 5 -- 6 inches in diameter. Bundles of stove wood are available at all the local grocery stores. Some kindling is needed as well. "Presto Logs" do not throw off much heat. Left over wood can be stacked neatly in the garage if you do not wish to transport it home.
3. How far is it to the casinos, Heavenly Valley, the lake, the Tahoe "Y", the recreation center?
The casinos are 2 miles away. Heavenly Valley California is 5 to 10 minutes away, Heavenly Valley Nevada is 20 to 25 minutes away, Lake Tahoe is a 4 block walk away, the El Dorado Beach Public Boat Ramp (Lakeview Commons) is 4 blocks away, the Tahoe "Y" where Hiway 50 and Hiway 89 split is 2 miles away, and the Recreation Center (Pool and Skating Rink) is 1/4 mile away behind the public camp ground. Shuttle buses run on Hiway 50 to Heavenly Valley, Sierra at Tahoe, and the casinos.
4. How many cars can fit into the driveway? What about snow removal?
During snowfall months, four vehicles can usually fit into the driveway. It is illegal to park on the street during periods in which snow removal equipment is in use. When there is no snow, if you park carefully, six cars can fit into the driveway.
The City of South Lake Tahoe limits parking at the property to six vehicles maximum. Snow is plowed from the driveway after each major snowfall.
Renters must move their cars from the driveway immediately when they see the plow arrive and begin working next door. Snow shovels for shoveling pathways to the door are found in the garage. Detailed directions concerning snow removal and parking can be found posted at the lodge.
5. Is there WiFi Internet Access and/or cellphone reception?
Yes, the WiFi network name is “cozynostralodge” and the password is also “cozynostralodge” however, internet access in the high Sierras can at times be unreliable. We also share a back-up network with a neighbor. Instructions are posted on the desk. Cellphone reception is generally good but varies by equipment and the company providing service. There is a landline for local calls.
6. What about the garage door?
Due to the harsh weather conditions and extremes in temperatures, the garage door can be temperamental. As posted,
the garage door must be opened and closed very very slowly, and should not be used if there is ice and/or snow against it. Only responsible adults should take on the task of raising and lowering the garage door as renters will be charged for damages and repairs to the garage door.
7. What about baby things?
There is an old folding crib stored in one of the bedroom closets. There is an old high chair outside the back door leading into the garage. There are two portable gates to block off the stairs from the bottom (usually stored in the garage).
Caution must be taken to keep children away from the wood stove, as it gets extremely hot.
8. Is there a washer and dryer?
There is a clothes dryer located in the garage. There is not a washer.
There is a Laundromat located two blocks away at the corner of Hiway 50.
9. Are there stores near by?
Within 2 or 3 blocks walking distance there is a liquor store/small grocery store, bagel shop, sandwich shop, video store, Taqueria, Laundromat, ski/bicycle rental, and a restaurant. Across Hiway 50 is the Lake Tahoe Visitors Center, Tahoe Museum, and behind the campground is the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Center including a public swimming pool and ice skating rink. Safeway, Albertsen's, and Rite Aid, are less than a mile away.
10. What do we do if we have problems?
Answers to some problems are listed in the "User's Guide to the Cozy Nostra Lodge." The "Problems" section also lists phone numbers to call. It is usually best to first try calling Don at the numbers listed for him
(try the numbers in the order listed in the "User's Guide.")
11. How do I return the keys after my stay?
It is important that the keys are enclosed tightly inside a double envelope, then placed inside a mailing envelope so that the post office machines don't tear up the mailing envelope and lose the keys.
Two postage stamps should be used due to the extra weight. Renters will be charged for changing the locks for keys lost in the mail.

Vacation Home Rental Code Requirements Permit #102355
Maximum Number of Overnight Occupants: 12 persons, including children.
Maximum Number of Overnight Parking: 6 vehicles
All parking must be in the driveway or immediately in front of the vacation home rental. During snow conditions parking must comply with the posted seasonal snow removal regulations which will limit parking to fewer spaces. Car pooling is recommended. While the driveway is snow plowed, shoveling of snow by occupants is also necessary.
Overnight Stay and Parking is defined as 10:00 pm until 8:00 am.
Failure to conform to the parking and occupancy requirements is a violation of this city ordinance.
Vacation rentals may not be used for weddings or unlawful large parties.
Occupants are responsible for and may be cited for unlawful large parties or for creating a disturbance of any kind.
It is unlawful to make any offensive, excessive, unnecessary, unusually loud noise which annoys or disturbs the comfort, repose, health, peace or safety of others. All outdoor noise must cease prior to 10:00 pm.
Trash pick-up day for this property is early Tuesday morning. Trash and refuse should be put into the green plastic garbage cans and placed out near the street next to the neighboring garbage dumpster after 6:00 pm Monday.
There is a local caretaker who has authority to assume management of the unit and take remedial measures. Contact information is posted next to the front door.
